To make sunflower oil from sunflower seeds, there are several sunflower oil processing steps you should know. First, remove the shells of sunflower seeds because the shells will increase the residual oil rate. Then through a series of equipment processing, the sunflower seeds can be adjusted into the best condition. At last, use sunflower oil press machine to make sunflower oil or use sunflower oil pre-press machine and solvent extraction plant to extract sunflower oil.
Next, I will introduce two sunflower oil processing methods usually used in sunflower oil factory: pressing method and solvent extraction method. They have same processing steps in sunflower seeds pretreatment section, but the pressing section and solvent extraction section are different.
1. Sunflower seeds pretreatment section

First, cleaning the sunflower seeds to prevent the following machine from damage. Second, remove the shells to reduce the residual oil rate. Third, make the sunflower seeds into flakiness to increase the oil yield. Finally, adjust the temperature and moisture of sunflower seeds flakiness to increase the oil yield.
2. Sunflower oil pressing or pre-pressing section

Sunflower oil press machine and sunflower oil pre-press machine look like same, but they have different inner stucture. Which one you choose depend on the processing method you want to use.
3. Sunflower oil solvent extraction plant

After pre-pressing, the sunflower seed cakes can be sent in to sunflower oil solvent extraction plant to extraction sunflower oil out. Solvent extraction method is using Hexane to extract oil from cakes, and such a chemical can increase the amount of oil extracted.
